Rave review!!! We are close to the end of our second contract with Thrifty Facelifty. To say that I highly recommend is an understatement!! Ken & Donna have been a pleasure to work with. During our initial meeting it was clear that we shared the same philosophy of sustainability. We chose to embrace our home's intended style. Nothing was a total gut & we made the best of our layouts and existing materials while mixing in some new.
The scope of work included retrofitting existing decks and interior stair railings with cable rail. We reused the existing stairs & some posts & added cables. We refreshed 2 bathrooms. Keeping existina lavout and some fixtures and tile in one. Swapped out vanities. Added shiplap. A lot of shiplap. Swapped out hardware & added design elements. Ken added shiplap over every.square.inch of popcorn ceiling in our 2800 sq ft home. He accented with beams in the living room. They are a showstopper.
If you've done major renovations you know delays in schedule are typical. Our projects had very minimal delays/ schedule alterations. Budget was spot on. No surprises. When I wasn't on the island for several days, Ken sent progress photos and I truly appreciated those updates.
TLDR/ I highly recommend Thrifty Facelifty. The work is top notch! I love their sustainable philosophy & creativity to reuse some of what you have to be easier on the environment and your budget. Their proposal & contract are detailed, itemized and understandable. Lastly, Ken & Donna are nice humans. They take pride in their work. It shows. I look forward to working with them as we continue updating our vintage surfshack. Happy to answer any questions or discuss our projects.

My wife and I had a general idea of what we wanted, and during the initial consultation Kenny & Donna were able to fill in the blanks, tie everything together and deliver an absolute gorgeous kitchen! They were able to customize different pieces to give us exactly what we wanted and fulfill our visions. They were very creative when it came to reusing material. Our granite countertop island sits on part of our old cabinets! When It came time for construction, GC Kenny and Denny were meticulous in how everything was put together. The final product was something that my wife and I only ever saw on TV! Thank you so much for your vision, the care and time you put into making this not only a great product, but a phenomenal experience!”

“Ken made the butcher block sink, removed all the tile and put up shiplap, reglazed two tubs, put up the ceiling, installed two new toilets, put up the light fixture, and painted. His wife Donna actually did the design work. They are both now updating my kitchens in my newly purchased duplex. Not only are they extremely reasonable and trustworthy, but they are kind and caring people as well. If you need some work done, these are your people. I cannot say enough good things about them or the work they do.”
